The rooms sit off a short carpeted hall.

You come in from Wilson Road, leave bags at the timber desk if someone is there, and walk the length of the corridor. The far window usually blows the light a bit. Doors are blank — we tell you which one when you ring.

Queen, garden side

The larger room faces the flax. Linen gets a crease by afternoon if the window is open. A glass of water on the table is as far as the welcome tray goes — we do not stock a minibar.

Twin, street side

Two singles and a bit of scuff on the skirting. Useful if you are not sharing a bed. You still hear the odd hatchback on Wilson Road after ten.

What we do from here

Overnight, then the phone.

Bathrooms are small. The mirror spots. Towels fold on the rail. We do not hire the rooms out as a hall, and we do not cook dinners. If you want tea in the morning there is a table by a window — fruit, a teapot, that is it.
